The topic over at Toon Club is 'Alien Life Forms'. I'd already posted a full-color image, and had a few minutes of sketching time this morning. I had fun with it, so I'm posting these sketches too.
Thanks Adrian. I've had a lot of fun playing with different shapes, and expressions. I've never aspired to be an animator (sadly, no patience for it), but I have always loved Character Design.
ooohh BABY!!! i saw the first two in the toon club, but im blown away by the top one, the one with the beeloon.
ya i dont think ill have much luck with the toon club. i asked about getting in (through Jed) when it first started but i think they were trying to limit it to only 5 or 6 people or something. When you started leaving comments on my blog i thought that maybe there was hope through you hahaha, but it apperars that you arent the man in charge haha maybe ill try again in the future but ive started a new one with some of the animation students in my classes, kind of a "toon club"-esc but with a little twist. (thequickdraw.blogspot) i just got it going so we'll see what happens.
thanks for the link to the other place ill check it out,
Good to hear the news Tyler! I've visited The Quick Draw site, and it looks like you guys have a good thing going. I'll be excited to see what you guys come up with in the weeks and months ahead.
Yeah, I regret I'm not the man. Though I understand the desire to limit the numbers of people who can enter Toon Club (or any club). Big numbers can get pretty overwhelming. I think their limit is 12, but don't hold me to it.
If your looking for other inspirational sites, or weekly sketch sites, I can probably help you out. Though I'll probably have to e-mail you some names. Or you can just check out my links. I'm sure I'll be adding to it over time. There's a lot of talent out there to learn and draw inspiration from. Good luck with The Quick Draw Blog!
thanks again Ken for the help and motivation, ive looked around in your links in the past and ive found some great pieces through them. ill check them out again and see what i may have missed!!
Thanks Princess Pepper Cloud. I had a lot of fun creating these weird little guys. It's what I do! I'll probably post more in the future, just cause they're fun to goof around with. Thanks for your kind words Princess!
Ty, you are very welcome my friend. You know we artists need to stick together! It's like a rule or something, but I couldn't tell you where to find the rule book. :)
I'll be posting more links this week. It's been a fruitful couple of weeks searching out others' sites. So there will be more. Check back when you've got the time.
You've got some really great stuff. I like how much you can vary your style. Good work. I will be a frequent viewer. A bee for a balloon. That's adorable.
Many thanks Kyle! I have fun with it, glad to know its reflected in my work.
MGBeers, thanks again! 'Preciate you stopping by. You're 2 kind!
Kelly, I'm trying to narrow my range of styles down to about 10, but so far I'm having way too much fun playing around with styles to do it once an for all. :) Please feel free to stop by any time, cause I'll be stopping by your site for updates.
