Avast! Tis a Space Pirate off the port bow! He's nothin' pretty to look at, and he wears the traditional garb, so he must be a scurvy dog!
Now walk the plank ye Earthlubbers!
Here are both my original pencil sketch, and my colorized versions. I posted the pencil sketch last night thinking perhaps I was done, but then woke up around 5:20 this morning and got an itch to put some color to it.

Got up at 5:20?! What are you, mad?! I'd like to say it was worth it, because I think the coloring you did is incredible and really helps out your already strong sketch... but I wouldn't even get up that early if my house was on fire. So "worth it" is questionable. Still... excellent work, sir.
SO awesome! Yi Aaaaargh! ;)
Thanks for giving us the full treatment, Ken! I love seeing the process stuff, especially on something that turned out so nice!
I like this a lot. Very cool design.
Haha sweet, the world has gone mad for pirates!
This is awesome man. Really salty, and a great design.
Many thanks for dropping by for a visit guys! Thanks for your very kind comments. And yes Shane, I was up at 5:20 on a Friday. I'm usually up between 3-4 am anyway because of my work schedule. Don't ask...
Adrian, I too think it's great when others show their process, so I figured I'd show mine (or at least two steps). Photoshop is the best! Saves me loads of time.
That's a wicked coool character!
Oh man! This guy shoulda' been in Treasure Planet! Nice pic!
awwww dont skeeew me!!
fun character, imagine if he were in pirates...ohhh ahhhh
Thanks guys! Great to hear from you, and for the vote of confidence. I'd love to have had a role in the pre-production of such a film, that would have been a choice opportunity, perhaps someday. Until then, thanks for coming to see my stuff, I'll be making the rounds to your sites as well. So much eye candy, so little time.
Well I finally have a chance to post back and check out some of your work and I am glad I did. I can tell I can get a lot out of looking at how you do things. I like it alot! Anyway, I am starting to do some painter stuff so any feedback or tips you have I would be glad to hear them! Later
Very nice work on both the B&W and Coloured versions of this fella !!
Many thanks guys! 'Preciate the comments.
